Help & FAQ

Everything you need to get a loss run analyzed and trust the result.

Getting started

  1. Drop in a loss run. Click Upload PDFs and pick the carrier's loss-run file — or paste the text. Add several files at once (e.g. three years, or two carriers) and LossLens combines them into one analysis.
  2. Read the analysis. In a few seconds you get the totals, charts, risk flags, claims table, and a renewal-ready narrative. Glance at the verification strip at the top — green means every figure reconciled against the document.
  3. Use it. Set “Prepared by” to your agency, Export PDF for a branded copy, or Create share link to send an underwriter a clean view with no login.

Want to see it first? The sample analysis runs on synthetic data — no signup, no real client info.

How to read your report

  • Total incurred — total expected cost of all claims (paid + reserves). The headline number.
  • Open reserves — money still set aside for open claims. A big number means losses are still developing.
  • Claims (open / closed) — how many, and how many are still open.
  • Largest claim — the single biggest loss, often the one driving the account.
  • Incurred by year — the trend. Rising bars = worsening severity.
  • Loss type breakdown — where the dollars are concentrated.
  • Risk flags — what an underwriter would notice: severity concentration, open development, frequency trends.
  • Verification strip — LossLens re-checks its own numbers. Green = every claim foots (paid + reserve = incurred), the rows sum to the totals, and the total matches what's printed on your run. Amber = something didn't reconcile, with the exact figure to review.
  • Source column — where each claim was found, so you can trace any figure back to the document.

FAQ

Can I trust the numbers?

LossLens extracts the claims with AI and then independently re-checks every figure — re-adding the rows and reconciling against the total printed on your carrier's run. If anything doesn't reconcile, it flags it (amber) and points you to the claim. As with anything AI-assisted, confirm the figures that matter against the source before you bind — the verification layer is built to make that fast.

Does it replace my underwriter or my judgment?

No. It's an analysis tool — it structures and verifies your carrier's loss run and writes a draft summary. You and the carrier make the decisions.

Where does my data go? Is it secure?

Your PDF is sent over an encrypted connection and processed to produce the analysis — it is not stored; only the structured results are saved to your account. The AI provider (Anthropic) does not use your data to train its models under its commercial terms. See the Security page for details. We're pre-launch and don't yet hold SOC 2; email us to delete your account or any analysis.

What file types and sizes work?

Carrier loss-run PDFs (including many scanned ones) and pasted text. Very large or heavily scanned multi-year runs may work best split by policy year.

Does it work for all lines of business?

Yes — workers' comp, general liability, commercial auto, property, and others. It's most useful on commercial accounts with multiple claims and years.

Can it pull the loss runs from the carriers for me?

Not today — LossLens analyzes the runs once you have them. If getting the runs is your bigger pain, tell us — we're listening.

Does it integrate with my AMS (Epic, AMS360, EZLynx, HawkSoft)?

Not yet — it's standalone, so there's nothing to install. We'll build integrations once agencies tell us which system to start with.

How much does it cost?

We're in early access and offering founding-agency pricing for the first shops who help shape the product. Get in touch and we'll sort out a plan that fits.

Can I send a report to a client or underwriter?

Yes — generate a share link and they view it in the browser with no login, or export a branded PDF.

What if I find a mistake in an analysis?

Check the source column to trace the figure, fix anything that matters in your submission, and tell us — real examples make the product better.

LossLens analyses are AI-generated and auto-reconciled against the source. Figures should be confirmed against the carrier loss run before underwriting or binding. Not a coverage or compliance determination.
